Today, the County Assemblies Forum (CAF), led by CEO Ms. Lonah Losem, paid a courtesy visit to the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) to discuss partnership on strengthening the capacities of Communication Officers on Access to Information. During the meeting, Mr. David Omwoyo – CEO MCK, reiterated the need to support the  county assemblies  communication officers, emphasizing how these efforts will support journalists in their work and uphold press freedom.

Ms. Losem highlighted the importance of partnerships in bridging the information gap within county governments and ensuring officers are well-equipped to handle and disseminate critical information.

Mr. Ponciano Odongo, Chair of Communications and Public Relations Officers for the 47 County Assemblies, echoed the sentiments, noting that the collaboration would pave the way for greater transparency and accountability in county governance.
