The County Assemblies Forum (CAF) and the Office of the Controller of Budget (OCoB) are developing a joint Work Plan to operationalize their MoU, strengthening public financial management, transparency, accountability, and oversight while enhancing County Assemblies’ capacity to promote prudent resource use and improved service delivery.
The County Assemblies Forum (CAF) and the Office of the Controller of Budget (OCoB) have convened in Naivasha to develop a joint Work Plan that will guide the implementation of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant step towards enhancing governance, accountability, and public financial management at the county level.
The Work Plan is expected to provide a structured framework for collaboration between the two institutions, focusing on strengthening public financial management systems, promoting transparency and accountability in the use of public resources, and building the capacity of County Assemblies to effectively execute their constitutional oversight mandate.
The engagement brings together representatives from both institutions to identify key priority areas, define implementation strategies, and establish mechanisms for coordinated action under the partnership.
Through this collaboration, CAF and OCoB seek to reinforce prudent utilization of public funds, strengthen oversight of county expenditures, and support improved service delivery across the country. The initiative reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing good governance and ensuring that public resources are managed efficiently and responsibly for the benefit of all Kenyans.
The development of the joint Work Plan is expected to operationalize the MoU and provide a clear roadmap for sustained collaboration aimed at enhancing accountability, transparency, and performance within Kenya's devolved governance framework.
