CAF Executive Committee Reviews Priorities and Upcoming Programmes for FY 2026/27

The County Assemblies Forum (CAF) Executive Committee today held its 29th Executive Committee Meeting at the CAF Offices, Flamingo Towers, Upperhill, Nairobi, bringing together members of the Committee to take stock of the Forum’s ongoing work and strategic priorities.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the Executive Committee to receive updates on ongoing and upcoming CAF activities for the Financial Year 2026/2027, while deliberating on emerging issues and key matters requiring the Committee’s attention.

Among the key engagements reviewed was the Youth Legislators Conference 2026, scheduled for 20th–21st August 2026, which will provide a platform for young legislators and leaders to engage on youth leadership, participation and the strengthening of youth voices in devolved governance.

The conference is part of CAF’s broader efforts to create platforms that promote meaningful youth participation in governance and empower young leaders to contribute to decision-making and the advancement of devolution.

The Executive Committee further emphasised the importance of strategic coordination in delivering the Forum’s mandate and ensuring that the collective interests and voice of Kenya’s County Assemblies remain central to engagements on devolved governance.

The deliberations reaffirmed CAF’s commitment to effective representation, stronger County Assemblies and a responsive, inclusive and people-centred system of devolved governance.
