Fresh leadership and a renewed sense of purpose set the tone in Mombasa as the newly elected Executive Committee of the County Assemblies Forum (CAF) convened for an intensive induction workshop to shape the Forum’s next phase of strategic engagement.
Elected to serve for the remainder of the 2022–2027 term, the new Executive Committee will steer CAF’s agenda over the next two and a half years. The induction brought together experienced voices and institutional memory to orient the leadership on the Forum’s structure, responsibilities, and evolving role within Kenya’s devolved governance framework.
A highlight of the workshop was a comprehensive session led by Dr. Nuh Nassir, founding Chairperson of CAF, who traced the Forum’s journey since its inception in 2013. Drawing from more than a decade of engagement, Dr. Nassir highlighted CAF’s transformation into a critical actor in strengthening devolution through legislative capacity building, good governance promotion, and unified representation of County Assemblies.
The induction functioned as both a strategic briefing and a leadership transition milestone, reinforcing CAF’s commitment to continuity, institutional learning, and grounded leadership. The new Executive Committee is expected to prioritize legislative excellence, enhance inter-county collaboration, and lead robust advocacy efforts on issues impacting the success of devolution.
