The Chairperson of the County Assemblies Forum (CAF), Hon. Philemon Sabulei, on 14th November 2024, met with the Chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG), H.E. Ahmed Abdullahi, EGH, in a courtesy visit aimed at fostering collaboration and advancing the devolution agenda.
Hon. Sabulei congratulated H.E. Abdullahi on his recent election as CoG Chairperson, commending his commitment to enhancing county governance. The two leaders engaged in a fruitful discussion on strengthening intergovernmental relations and exploring ways to enhance legislative and fiscal frameworks to support the effective functioning of county governments.
They emphasized the importance of promoting good governance, financial independence, and inclusivity at all levels of county administration. The meeting underscored the shared resolve of CAF and CoG to address emerging challenges and unlock opportunities for sustainable development in the counties. This dialogue highlights the critical role of collaboration between the two institutions in championing devolution as a pillar of Kenya’s governance and development. Both leaders expressed optimism that such engagements will drive impactful reforms and strengthen service delivery for all Kenyans.
