The Executive Committee of the County Assemblies Forum (CAF), led by Chairperson Hon. Seth Kamanza, held a high-level consultative meeting with the Speaker of the Senate, Rt. Hon. Amason Jeffah Kingi, EGH, aimed at reinforcing collaboration between the Senate and County Assemblies.
The meeting, held today, focused on fostering stronger intergovernmental relations and advancing a shared commitment to safeguarding the principles and architecture of devolution. Central to the discussions was the need to harmonize legislative efforts between the national and county levels to enhance service delivery and strengthen governance frameworks across the country.
CAF acknowledged the Senate’s continued support to County Assemblies, particularly through legislative interventions that bolster their constitutional roles in oversight, representation, and law-making. Both institutions affirmed their commitment to a more structured and coordinated approach in addressing emerging challenges within counties and accelerating the progress of the devolution agenda.
This engagement marks a critical step in building synergy between the two legislative arms and ensuring that the spirit of devolution remains central to Kenya’s governance and development discourse.
